Conversations is an exhibition of collaborative and experimental creative works by alumni and faculty from the School of Architecture + Design, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi in Thailand, and associates of the Centre for Research in Art and Science at the University of the Algarve in Portugal.
In 2018, five South-East Asian creative practitioners began on-line conversations with five Portugal-based artists. This exhibition celebrates the conceptual and (im)material discoveries emerging from this process of distal dialogue, interaction and exchange. Expect a set of video, sound, interactive and print works that seek to respond to the project’s initial question: how might creative production in art, design and media contribute to dialogue, interaction and exchange across geographies, histories and cultures? Opening a few days later than the Bangkok exhibition, Conversations (Faro) re-stages this show in Portugal.
Conversations is part of ‘Cultural Adventures’, an ongoing collaborative research project animated by King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (School of Art and Design, SOA+D), and the University of the Algarve (Centre for Research in Art and Communication, CIAC).
