I
want to explore the constructed of ideology in Thai family through
surrealist methods.
Why?,
it might reveal how other systems share the similar processes.
I
had read the texts;
- The Construction of Main stream Thought on “Thainess” and the “Truth” Constructed by “Thainess” (Saichol Sattayanurak)
- ไทยๆ (Pracha Suveeranont & Kasian Tejapira)
- ชาติทรหด (มนัส จรรยงค์) ...a fiction by Thai writer in the theme of vernacular Thai...
- What is Social Construction? (Laura Flores)
- It's All in the Family: Intersections of Gender, Race, and Nation (Patricia Hill Collins)

- Five Reigns, the emphasize of hierarchy in Thai society by M.R. Kukrit.
- Manee, a representation of how good girl should be like.
- Thai style soap opera, temporarily popular culture that constructed pleasurable or notion between man and woman.
On
the other hand, the fiction book from Exquisite Corpse game (the
story is led by the sentences and images, and let people participate
on writing and connecting the story), it quite depends on chance.
Problem here is I did not critic much about what I have got from
participator in the book.
From
the discussion, what I missed is my opinion in the work. What do I
want to communicate on the visual work? I want to reveal the truth of how Thai
family was affected by visual forms. But if I need to add my comment,
what would I say? In other word, what I missed is the content.
Or
I should say that what “I want to explore is the possibility of
surrealist methods to comment on the constructed of ideology in Thai
family”.
Or
the cause of my confusion is the improperly organize thought.
???????
I am kind of understand more about the discussion yesterday now (hope so)...Furthermore, I could use the knowledge of the visual form that constructed Thai family, together with the methodology of surrealist to create a content on my project by commenting on something such as family issues themselves or step back to politics issue, similar to มานีมีแชร์ (A Facebook page that comments on Thailand contemporary politics by using the characters from Manee's text book).
ReplyDeleteA thought provoking reflection on some very strong work ... I get a strong sense that your practice is in motion ... The difficulties you are facing are a vital part of a firming up process ... Keep doing what you are doing .... Best from australia
ReplyDeleteI agree, I feel like I am not confident to create more visual work now.
ReplyDelete...to firm up the process...
Thank you for your advice Aj.Nigel and have a nice day in Australia :)
