News from the track: auto ethnography returns (did it ever go away?)

I've been busy working up an exhibition so I've neglected the blog somewhat. Please to get back with a report from this semester's Research and Practice class. The invitation to begin autoethnographies of practice have have begun to come in. Put simply, this invitation asks students to focus critical attention on the conditions that make their creative work possible in the first place: the configuration of spaces, technologies, people, resources (7 Eleven?) within which their creative practice happens. In other words, a self-documetary of process. This week saw Li Shien and Mook (see above) lead fascinating and challenging discussions about where and how they create. Hopefully, this lays the ground for the ongoing interrogations of one's own creative process and methods necessary for practice-based inquiry.
