MfA Visual Communication students took part in the annual workshop with Kyoto Institute of Technology in February. Working in a multi-disciplinary team in the remote, snowbound and spectacular village of Miyama, Nick, Sarleen and Saessac developed proposals for educational activities aimed at addressing the weakening of the traditional cooperative and gift economy due to the loss of younger community members to the urban centres. st
