Work in progress: Portraits of an Unknown Man (and an invitation)

I've been revisiting and reworking some unfinished portraits from 2014. Like much of my work from that period, it takes as its starting point found images of unknown men (this one came from a 1940 public information film). I then subject these (the images or the men?) to a process that involves laser printing, overpainting, scanning and digital processing using self-designed algorithms. Not sure why I chose to revisit these now but what struck me throughout a day or two playing with them was the way in which the male physiognomy can be deployed to project power, authority and control. Then you add a uniform and ...

I think it would be good if our current students (Li Shien, Tong and Tui) posted an image or two of their current work and said a few words about it .... After Songkran is fine

Happy Thai new year to you all
