My project is about if and how the visual language of “Graffiti” can be used to share Buddhism’s belief.

I read the news about someone paint graffiti over MAMAFAKA’s work (at the someone’s wall space) and MAMAFAKA fanclub really mad and sad about this, so now they painted the black over and write RIP MAMAFAKA. I understand the point that because MAMAFAKA is died so his work will not happen again but it is the nature of Graffiti that this is not yours and it is changed all the time. This situation make me realize about the one of the Buddhism’s belief “Everything is not be forever.” So I search about Graffiti and found the comment about the Graffiti.

“Graffiti is one of the few movement that I have been involved in that includes people from all background with one goal in mind ‘getting up.’ Getting up means to hit anything, anywhere, with any from of graffiti from a tag all the way to wide style burner.

In the sense of the word “getting up”, I can feel the link with the idea of Buddhism’s belief. Then I read the Buddhist prayer book, I found that I’m not really understand the meaning in the prayer book. They use Bali language that not my original language.

I found the statue of monk and the writing about donates for the money. That’s really weird for me. It make me think that our diary life really conflict with Buddhism’s belief in our mind (from my point of view).

What I am trying to do is visualise how the buddhist conflict with Thai culture and at the same time find the way to merge with the Graffiti.
